Michael Ransome

          It is with heavy hearts that we announce the passing of Michael Paul Ransome at the age of 76.  Michael departed peacefully at Sakura House Hospice with family at his side. 

          Michael ‘Mike’ was born in Woodstock, Ontario to loving parents Edwin Ransome and Ruth Harrington.  He leaves behind three children, Joshua, Aaron, and Sarah, five grandchildren, Rees, Arius, Elijah, Ayla, and Jrayden, and his two remaining siblings, Catherine and Diane.  Mike now joins in heaven his parents and cherished brother David. 

          Mike will be remembered for his great love of music and a keen photographic eye.  His beautiful photos will provide joy and comfort to family and friends for generations to come.  Mike’s favourite music serenaded him as he embarked on his final journey into the light.  Mike was known as a kind and gentle soul.  He never had an angry word for anyone and forgave any who mistreated him.  In a world that can be harsh and cold, he was always warm and welcoming.   His loving presence will be missed.

          A Celebration of life will be held on Saturday April 11, 2026, from 2 to 5 p.m.  This event will take place at the Unifor 636 Hall, located at 126 Beale Street, Woodstock, Ontario.  All who knew Mike are welcome to join us as we share memories, music and laughter.  Donations made in Michael’s memory to VON Sakura House are greatly appreciated. 

          Cremation has taken place.  Final Arrangements have been entrusted to Wareing Cremation Services, 225 Norwich Ave., Woodstock.  Messages of remembrance may be shared here at www.wareingcremation.ca
