Norman Bates

Norman Bates of Tillsonburg, Ontario passed away with his grandchildren by his side on Saturday November 21, 2020, in his 91st year, at the Tillsonburg District Memorial Hospital.

Welcomed into Heaven by the three women he loved the most, his wife Lois, his daughter Jane (Goodlett), and his common law partner Liz.  Loving Pup of Adam (Vicki) Goodlett and their children Amellia, Brady, Sydney, and Tegan; Courtney Causyn and her son Kane; Crystal (Colin Greenhead) Goodlett and their daughter Ruby.  Remembered by his son in law Jack Goodlett, and the Walsh and Cunningham Families.

Norman loved to travel and Disney World was his absolute favourite destination.  His love for fishing was a lifelong passion going back to the days of commercial fishing with his father Charlie. Building his boat, the “Janie Bee” named for his much loved daughter was a memory he shared with pride.  An avid woodworker, always tinkering, Norman has left many furniture pieces for family members and among our many memories is the log cabin he constructed with plenty of sweat, curse words, and love.

Cremation has taken place with Interment in the Straffordville Cemetery.  Memorial donations to the Tillsonburg District Memorial Hospital Foundation are appreciated and can be made directly, or by cheque through Wareing Cremation Services, 346 Simcoe Street, Tillsonburg, Ontario  N4G 2J8 entrusted with arrangements.

Our Family would like to express our sincere appreciation to Dr. Foerster, 2nd Floor Nursing Staff, and the kind 2nd Floor PSW’s at Tillsonburg District Memorial Hospital for their outstanding compassionate care and attentiveness for our Pup.
