 Patrick "Pat" Evan Carter
December 13, 1950 - March 11, 2022

Born and raised in Woodstock, Pat passed away with his family by his side.

Loving husband to Helen Carter (White) for 46 years.  He loved to make her laugh, always had a lot to say, supported her ambitions and woke her up every morning with a cup of coffee. Exceptional Father to Amanda and Jennifer.  He taught them to use their brain power playing chess, he was always their number one cheerleader and problem solver, he taught them to love nature, to have a sense of adventure, and to definitely sweat the small things (not a typo).

Previously departed loved ones include parents Rita and Bill Carter, and brothers John and Terry. He is survived by siblings Christine (Bob), and Mike (Wendy).

Brother-in-law to Mary Jo (Pat), Emily (Larry), Teresa (Richard), Jackie (Gary), and Loretta.  Adoring uncle to all his many nieces and nephews.

Pat was a successful business owner and operator of Dickie Dee Ice Cream for over 35 years, even though the guy didn't want to work a day in his life.

He lived out his dream living in the country in Embro, where he spent his time chopping wood, mowing the lawn just so, and enjoying a beer or two. He could make friends anywhere as he had the gift of gab. He was a provider of unsolicited instructions, knower of all things, history buff, animal lover (especially his dogs), master of dad jokes, and liked anything that was free.

Consider yourself lucky if you were on his Christmas card list.

He had many lifelong friends that he enjoyed annoying, playing poker with, or simply calling them up to chat. He loved going for long walks in the woods, kayak trips down the river, and fishing trips.

He will be so very missed.

A Celebration of Life will be held on Sunday April 24, 2022 from 2:00 pm to 4:00 pm at the Woodstock Legion Branch 55, 642 Dundas Street, Woodstock.

Pat's happy place was in the great outdoors surrounded by trees. In lieu of flowers, consider planting a tree in his honour.  https://www.alivingtribute.ca/
