Patricia McGillicuddy

1952-2023

Patricia (Patti) McGillicuddy, age 70, of Woodstock, Ontario passed away peacefully at Sakura House Hospice on Sunday May 8, 2023, following the sudden onset of, and a courageous fight with, liver disease. She was born November 21, 1952, in Woodstock to the late Jack and Betty McGillicuddy.

She is survived and lovingly remembered by her wife Äse Hallgren, and brothers Peter (Margie) and David (Akinyi). 

Much beloved Aunt to Jason (Becky) and Darryl (Kara), Dain (Mackenzie) and Spencer (Alex), Mikayla and Kaleb, Emily, and Molly, and great Aunt to Zoe and Abby. 

Cherished and adored by family and friends Bjorn, Svein, and Per; Ronna; Kathy; Sarka, Heather, Marilyn and Anne; Mike and Paul; Albert and Linda; Pat and Pat; Penny and Bob; Sirkka and Maureen; and so many more.

She was predeceased by her dear sister Carol and brother-in-law David.

Patti worked as a professor, counsellor, and social worker for many years at the University of Toronto.

She was an early and prominent supporter of LGBTQ rights, women's rights, and human rights, and the reach and influence of her research, her social activism, and her dedication to these causes cannot be understated.
