Woodstock, Ontario

Paul Douglas Hunter, 65, passed peacefully into the arms of his Saviour and Lord Jesus, at his home on July 16, 2025, surrounded by the love of his family and with his wife by his side.

Loving and cherished husband of Jeannette, devoted father of Nathaniel and Jalena, and Isaac.  Proud papa of Timmithy, Matthew and Dinah.  Much loved son of Paul W. and Sandra Hunter, brother of David and Sarah Hunter, and James Hunter.  Dearly missed son-in-law of Bruce and Phyllis Grass, brother-in-law of Jim and Judy Haas, Jeff Grass, Mark and Teresa Morton.  Paul is also remembered by his nieces and nephews, by his many friends and also his co-workers.  Predeceased by his mother, Shirley (2014) and infant brother, Donald.

Paul’s quiet but strong faith in God, his warm, caring ways, his love of adventure and travel, his sense of humour and zest for life live on in our hearts and in the many memories of time spent with him.  In keeping with Paul’s great enjoyment of get-togethers and parties, a celebration of his life will be held in the near future.

A deeply heartfelt thank you to all our family and friends for their unwavering support throughout Paul’s illness.  Thank you, as well, to Dr. George and to Dr. Climans and the Staff at the London Cancer Clinic, and to each of the members of the Palliative Care Outreach Team for their skill, compassionate care and kindness given to both Paul and Jeannette.  Special thanks to PSW Teresa for your fun sense of humour that brightened our days and for your wonderful caring ways right to Paul’s last moments.

There will be a celebration of Paul’s life and those details will be announced here as soon as decisions have been confirmed.  If desired, donations in Paul’s memory can be made to the Heart and Stroke Foundation or the Canadian Cancer Society .

Let us run with endurance the race God has set before us.         Hebrews 12:1

I have fought the good fight, I have finished the race, and I have remained faithful.  And now the prize awaits me.      2 Timothy 4:7,8
