Paul Wavell

On his birthday, April 13th, (Reginald) Paul "Bo/Reg" Wavell passed away peacefully and beautifully at home, while surrounded by his family absorbed by love and laughter while reminiscing of years gone by.
Loving Husband of 46 years to Linda, the Best Dad ever to Lindsay (Ryan) and Ashley (Christopher), devoted Papa to his pride and joy, grandsons, Drew and Logan. Born on an Easter Sunday, to Laurene and Reginald (both predeceased), brother to Dianne (Fred) and Lois (Gary). Loving son in law to Maurice and Yvonne (both predeceased); brother in law to Doreen and David, and Uncle to several nieces and nephews.
Cherished friend and neighbour of many wonderful people throughout his lifetime, including Dale - a "brother" since childhood; the group of friends he formed from working at CAMI; the family that he felt a part of at Anderson Automotive Group; longtime friends from Otterville and area; dear friends he and Linda met and remained friends with while on the School PTA, and through his volunteer work at Holy Trinity Parish.
Many know Paul as a devoted employee of Santa; he proudly donned 'the red suit' for over 20 years bringing his Christmas spirit to countless little ones (and those young at heart).
Paul enjoyed his post retirement job as a shuttle driver as he delighted in talking to new people and hearing their stories along his travels.
Gifted at writing poetry, Paul's family members – his grandsons specifically - were his inspiration. We will also remember him for knowing the cheesiest Dad jokes.
Paul had a fantastic sense of humour and the most contagious laugh. He was gifted in his hobby of woodworking- following in the footsteps of his late Father.
He was our biggest supporter and we will forever hear him saying "I love you, I am so proud of you".
We know that Paul will have front row seats when the Leafs win the Stanley cup this year. Go Leafs Go! ;-)
We wish to thank the Oxford Palliative Care Outreach Team led by the brilliant Dr. Sondhi.
We are forever grateful to everyone who cared for Paul through P.C.O.T, especially RPN Robbie from Care Partners, Care Coordinator RN Tiffany from SWLHIN, and the Oxford County Community Paramedicine Program, who all quickly became extended family members of our household.
A special thanks to Respirologist Dr. Sohaib who was a compassionate advocate for Paul's health. We would also like to recognize the LRCP team, including Dr. Andrews and Dr. Vincent, and the Chemotherapy Department at Woodstock Hospital.
Special thanks to Dr. Brioux for his continuous care and rapid response upon Dad’s diagnosis. A most sincere thank you to the entire Huron Street PharmaSave team for their incredible service and kindness, but most of all, the caring relationship they formed with Paul, which always felt above and beyond.
In keeping with Paul's generous spirit, the family encourages you to make a donation to your charity of choice.
During the Christmas season, we urge you to honour Paul's legacy of paying it forward by donating to a toy or food drive.
If the meaning of your life is measured by the way you make other people feel and the values you leave behind for the people that crossed your path, then Paul has left a legacy for all of us to live by.
Cremation has taken place. A Celebration of Paul's Life will be held at a later date, just as Paul wanted. A private Family interment will occur when the time feels right.
Wareing Cremation Services, 225 Norwich Ave., Woodstock has been entrusted with final arrangements, and we wish to thank Wareing’s for their undeniable compassion and professionalism during this most difficult time in our lives. Your messages of remembrance and condolence may be shared here at wareingcremation.ca
