PAULETTE LOUISA DUCHARME

JUNE 23, 1939   -   APRIL 29, 2024

With heartbreaking sadness, we announce the passing of Paulette.  After a two year battle with cancer and other illnesses, she died peacefully and pain free.

Beloved Mother of Mark Renaud (Shawn), Tina Leon (Don), and Michael (Donna).  Cherished sister to Richard Ducharme (Fernande) and Mariette Paulin (Bob deceased).  Predeceased by her parents Emilien and Alexandrina (Lena) Ducharme, and her brothers Denis and Jean Ducharme.

Paulette was Aunt to several nephews and nieces, Robert Ducharme (Sylvie), Linda Ducharme (Philippe), Julie Ducharme (Eric), Stephanie Paulin (Brian), Tanya Paulin, and Liane Paulin.

She adored her grandchildren Christine Leon (Tyler), Geoff Renaud (Avril), Andrew Leon (Nicolle), Martin Renaud (Megan), Stephanie LeonKaterina Renaud (Marshal).  Paulette had three great-grandchildren, Arthur Leon, Ocean Renaud, and Baby Girl Leon.

If you knew Paulette, you knew she was a funny, upbeat person.  She loved giving people gifts, loved her family and was extremely proud of all her grandchildren.  She was born and grew up in Ottawa, then she married Don Renaud and travelled throughout Europe.  After her divorce she fell in love with the city of Toronto, and met her best friend of 42 years, Patricia Cross.

Paulette was fortunate to live in a building on Sultan Street, in Toronto, where she lived for 29 years.  Many people in her building were true friends. They checked on her, brought her goodies, gave her massages, and were deeply saddened when Paulette moved to Sakura House in Woodstock.

Our mother was very proud of her French-Canadian heritage, and how our ancestors were married in Montreal on October 19, 1665.  Almost 360 years ago!

Celebrations of Life:  Woodstock - Postponed, venue TBD; Ottawa - July 6, 2024.  Lunch (noon) Mandarin Restaurant, 290 W. Hunt Club Road, Nepean, Ontario.  Please RSVP to Mariette Paulin @613-724-6337 (text) or message her on Facebook.  Memorial donations to VON Sakura House in Woodstock, or the Princess Margaret Cancer Centre, as both facilities provided world-class support and medical care.

Wareing Cremation Services, 225 Norwich Ave., Woodstock, Ontario has been entrusted with Final Arrangements.  Your messages of remembrance and condolence may be shared here at wareingcremation.ca
