Peggy Maskell (nee Cain) passed away peacefully with family by her side at VON Sakura House on Friday March 14, 2025.
Cherished wife and best friend of Bryan Maskell for 49 years. Best Mom of Laura and her husband Rod Malone, and Ashley and her husband Tyler Phillips. Loved by her step sons Sean and Paul, and their children. Devoted and loving Nana of Jack Bryan, Everly, and Lily. Peggy will be missed by her siblings Art, Alan, Mary, Jack, and Deb, sisters-in-law Pat ‘Pearl’ and Sylvia, and their families. Predeceased by her parents Jim and Florence Cain, her mother and father-in-law Thelma and Ken Maskell, and sister-in-law Libby.
Peggy enjoyed a long career in Nursing at McMaster and St. Joseph’s in Hamilton, Ontario. She started her career in bedside nursing and she retired as a director and manager of the kidney and urinary program at St. Joseph’s. She was a passionate quilter, and a voracious reader of literature. Peggy is our Number One Nana who will be forever remembered and loved!
Our family would like to thank the Doctors and Nursing Staff at LHSC-Victoria Hospital Oncology Units for their care and compassion.
A Celebration of Life will be held on Saturday March 29, 2025, from 2 to 4 p.m., at The Villages of Glancaster, at the Clubhouse, 1000 Silverbirch Blvd., Mount Hope, Ontario L0R 1W0 . Memorial donations made to VON Sakura House or to Victoria's Quilts Canada would be most appreciated.
