Peter Heinz Kueppers

January 15, 1932 – January 3, 2021

 Passed peacefully on January 3, 2021 in his 89^th year.  Peter was the devoted and beloved husband of Renate Kueppers (nee Kuhn).  He was a loving Father and much loved by his four sons, John (Janet), Hardy (Laurie), Roy (Sherrill), and Kirk.  His many grandchildren and great grandchildren will miss Opa’s fun loving, entertaining ways, and his sharing of candies and novelties. 

Peter came to Canada from Germany in 1953, followed by Renate in 1954, and they first settled in Toronto before moving to Tillsonburg in 1973.  Pete and Renate celebrated 66 years of marriage in 2020.  Peter was a skilled tradesperson and spent many of his years in the specialized build of fine jewelry chain machines, and chain production.  Peter was recognized for his creative ability and passion for his work.  Peter shared his knowledge and technical abilities with his sons and others with an interest.

The family enjoyed time together hunting, fishing, boating and camping.  Peter instilled a love and appreciation of the great outdoors that will carry on to future generations.  

Peter had an infectious smile, was a kind generous man, and was willing to help others in need. His positive attitude, great sense of humor and ability to strike up a conversation made folks feel comfortable around him, and led to many friendships.   Peter was open to multiple perspectives on many topics.  Many will sadly miss but fondly remember Peter. 

An extra-special thank you to the Staff at Maple Manor Nursing Home for the compassionate care they gave our Father throughout his two years there and certainly in his final moments.  These incredible people made Dad’s stay enjoyable as was shown by his genuine smile whenever we visited him.
