It is with heavy hearts the family of Raymond Simmons announces his sudden passing at home on January 7, 2026.
Raymond will be missed by his daughter Jamie Caryn. Ray was a wonderful, caring and loving Grandfather to his three granddaughters Jessie, Kathleen, and Elizabeth. Great grandfather to Preston, Rayne, Alexa, Aliyah, Emily, Hope, Ian, Nevaeh, Aerial, and Mary Mae, and great great grandfather to Haven. Raymond is also survived by his sisters Sheila (Harold) Mathews, and Maxine (George) Scott, and by his brother Ted (Jackie) Winter.
Ray was an avid hunter and fisherman, going on yearly moose hunting trips with his buddies, and yearly fishing trips with his brother Ted. Ray was the proprietor of Ray’s Garage in Courtland. He was a dedicated lifelong member of the Courtland Lions Club serving many years in various capacities and organizing and running many functions which the Lions Club have held over the years. Ray was also a member of the Courtland Fire Department for many years.
In keeping with Ray’s wishes, cremation has taken place. A Celebration of Life will be held on Sunday February 1, 2026, from 12 to 4 p.m., at the Courtland Community Centre, 272 Main Street, Courtland, Ontario. Memorial donations to the Courtland Lions Club are most appreciated.
