Richard G. LaRochelle - Funeral Service

          A Funeral Service will be held on Saturday June 27, 2026, at 11:00 a.m., with visitation preceding the Service from 10:00 a.m. to 11:00 a.m. at St. George Catholic Church, 1164 Commissioners Road West, London, Ontario. 

          It is with profound sadness that we mourn the passing of Richard LaRochelle on June 16, 2026, in his 79th year following a brief illness.

          Predeceased by his parents Michael (2006) and Veronica (2017), his brother Michael Jr. (1988), daughter Mary (1981), and sister-in-law Maureen (2024).  Rick will be forever missed by his wife Elizabeth married 53 years, and his son Michael, his sister-in-law Lucienne, nephew Emmanuel and niece Lucienne Jr., brother-in-law Larry, and nephews Michael and Jeffrey.

          Born in Kiosk, Ontario in 1947, Rick attended Thessalon High School and graduated from St. Patrick’s College in Ottawa in 1969.  For decades he worked in logistics and distribution management, including for 24 years at D.H. Howden, first as Sales Manager responsible for growing the company in Western Canada, and later as VP of Distribution at the head office in London.  He also worked in store management for Beaver Lumber and as General Manager for TSC Stores, and most recently as Branch Manager and Business Development for KEE National Staffing Solutions / Leading Edge National Staffing.

          Rick was an avid golfer and for many years was a Saturday morning regular at Bear Creek Golf Club in Strathroy.  He enjoyed gourmet cooking throughout his life and was known for his annual tourtières at Christmas.  He was a charter member of Knights of Columbus council #10843.

          Cremation has already taken place. A funeral service will be held on Saturday June 27, 2026, at 11:00 a.m., with visitation preceding the service from 10:00 a.m. to 11:00 a.m. at St. George Catholic Church, 1164 Commissioners Road West, London, Ontario.  The funeral service will be streamed live from the Springbank Catholic Family of Parishes YouTube channel.  Interment will take place at Mount Pleasant Cemetery in London, Ontario at a later date.

          We would like to give thanks to all the staff at Victoria Hospital who cared for Rick and all our family and friends who have been supportive to us during this journey.  In lieu of flowers, please consider making a donation to St. George Catholic Church in London, Ontario, or a charity of your choosing.
