Robert Hunter

 Robert William Hunter, born October 21, 1953, passed away peacefully on January 20, 2026. He was a devoted husband to Bernice Hunter and a loving father, grandfather, brother, and friend.

 Robert is survived by his wife, Bernice Hunter; his children Josh Hunter (wife Jessica Hunter), Joe Hunter, and Angela Bender (husband Kyle Bender); his cherished grandchildren Zach Hirst, Mataya Bender, Mya Bender, Nic Bender, and Cura Hunter; and his sister Nancy Stevens. He was preceded in death by his beloved son James Hunter and daughter Anita Hunter, whom he held forever in his heart.

 An avid hunter and true outdoorsman, Robert found peace and joy in nature. He deeply enjoyed the outdoors and spent countless hours hunting and embracing the quiet beauty of the land. These moments reflected his patience, strength, and appreciation for life—values he shared with his family. Robert will be remembered for his kind heart, steady presence, and unwavering love for his family. Though he will be deeply missed, his legacy lives on through the lives he touched and the memories that will forever be cherished.

Robert William Hunter will forever remain in our hearts.

 A private service will be held for family at a later date. A Celebration of Robert’s life will be held for all on Saturday February 21 2026, from 1 to 4 p.m.,  at the Woodstock Royal Canadian Legion Branch 55, 654 Dundas St., Woodstock , Ontario.  In lieu of flowers, donations may be made in Robert’s memory to Sakura House Hospice .
