Robert Manuel

April 1, 1953 — March 8, 2026

Woodstock, Ontario

Robert  ‘Bob’  Reginald Manuel passed away with his family by his side on Sunday March 8, 2026 at the age of 72.

Known to most simply as Bob – he was a man who knew exactly who he was.  Those that knew him best knew that beneath his tough exterior he was a deeply loyal and loving husband, father, grandfather, brother and friend.  Bob shared of his love of the beach with his wife of 48 years Katy.   They spent many summer days walking the Lake Erie shoreline for the perfect piece of beach glass so that they could transform it into a work of art.

Bob spent his career as mechanic for Cuthbert's, pumping gas or spinning wrenches you always heard his unmistakable laugh. Bob made sure that his youngest daughter knew everything there was to know about cars.  He happily shared his knowledge when she expressed her love of cars– especially his beloved Camaro.

Bob was a proud grandfather of Jasmyne, Dominik, Jaime, and Mackenzie, and could always be found at the baseball diamond(s) day or night cheering them on when they played.  He took great pleasure in teasing the grandkids but he especially loved teasing his sons-in-law James and Mike whenever the opportunity presented itself, something they both with will surely remember with a smile .

Bob was predeceased by his parents Reg and Joan Manuel and his sister Kathy Cox.  He will deeply be missed by his wife Katy (nee Grant), his daughters Jeannette (James) Walker, and Karolyn (Mike) Gilbert, his grandchildren Jasmyne Walker, Jaime Walker, Dom Gilbert and Mack Gilbert, brothers Larry (Peggy McInroy) Manuel, Tim (Sayda) Manuel, sister Elaine (Len) Trembley, and his best buddy Beau.

In keeping with Bob’s wishes, there will be no formal funeral service.  A small gathering of close family and friends will be held at a later date to celebrate his life.  We ask that anyone wishing to make donation in Bob’s honour may do so to Oxford County Animal Rescue or to Simba's Cat & Kitten Rescue in Woodstock, Ontario.
