Ronald Lonsberry

          It is with great sadness that the family of Ron Lonsberry announce his passing on Saturday October 17, 2026, at the age of 74.  

          Ron was born August 11, 1952, in Woodstock, Ontario, the son of the late Doug and Helen Lonsberry.  Family is what brought Ron a lifetime of happiness, and he will be lovingly remembered by his wife of 52 years, Barb Lonsberry (nee Caskey), his children Shawn Lonsberry (Shelley) and Julie Norbruis (Ryan), his grandchildren Devin Norbruis, Tenley Lonsberry, JT Lonsberry and Mason Norbruis, his brother Ray Lonsberry (Marj), and many cousins, nieces and nephews.

          Ron was a lifelong resident of Woodstock, Ontario, and long-standing member of the Oxford County Naval Veterans Association (Navy Club) where he could be found having a friendly drink and playing a competitive game of shuffleboard.  He loved his travels that he and Barb took with family and friends, with Puerta Vallarta, Mexico being a favourite destination to make memories at.  Throughout Ron’s entire career, he was with a General Motors dealership in their parts departments until his retirement in 2015.

          Sports have always been a large part of Ron’s life being an avid baseball player himself.  He loved to spend his time watching his grandkids do what they loved, whether it was watching his granddaughter dance, or the boy’s playing baseball or soccer, he could always be found cheering them on.  If he wasn’t watching them play, he was happily watching the Jays or Leafs on the television.

          We would like to give our sincerest thank you, from the bottom of our hearts to the wonderful and compassionate staff at Sakura House for the care and compassion that they gave to Ron and showed to the family during his last week of life.

          A Celebration of life to honour Ron, will be held on Sunday November 22, 2026, from 1:00 p.m. to 3:00 p.m., at the Oxford County Naval Veterans Association (Navy Club), 959 James St, Woodstock, Ontario N4S 0A5.  Please join us in celebrating Ron, the life he lived, and the wonderful man that he was.  In lieu of flowers, those wishing to honour Ron's memory may make donations to VON Sakura House, or the Canadian Cancer Society .
