Rudy Paret

With his loving wife and family by his side, Rudy Paret of Simcoe, Ontario passed away on July 31, 2023 at Norfolk General Hospital at the age of 72.
Beloved husband of Linda (Avey) for 29 years.
Loving Father of Sarah (Steve) Conway, Ashley (Nick) Pallotta, John (Rose) Bee and Tim (Jane Lourenco) Bee. Cherished Papa of Evan, Makailyn, Anthony, Lesley, Crystal, Ondreanna, Rachel, and Breanne. Special Great Papa to Emma, Amelia, Laura and Daniel. Loving Brother to Tony (Fran), Eddy (Heather), Patrick (Helen) and Roger (Ana). Rudy will be deeply missed and lovingly remembered by many close family and friends.
Rudy was predeceased by his brother Gilbert (Theresa), and his parents Omer and Raymonda.
Rudy was born in Tourhout, Belgium in 1951, immigrating to Canada when he was only 2 years old. Rudy grew up on the family farm in Alliston, Ontario where his love for tractors, fishing and gardens flourished.
With the Nottawasaga River right in his backyard at the farm, it was hard for Rudy not to want to sneak out and indulge in his favourite pastime of fishing when he was supposed to be helping out on the farm. If Rudy wasn’t fishing, he was tending his vegetable garden, or taking a cruise in his prized Corvette.
His love for tractors developed into a lifelong career working at Galers Farm Equipment and produced quite the collection of tractor belt buckles that he was so proud to show off.
As a former DJ for events, Rudy loved listening to music (and if you were lucky enough to be his dance partner he had some trademark dance moves that would have put him in the hall of dance fame). Rudy could bend your ear recounting stories and tales from his time on the family farm, Hooton’s Marine and of course adamantly sharing fish tales of the big one that got away.

The family extends a special thank you to all the ICU Doctors and Nurses at Norfolk General Hospital for all their love and care.
Cremation has taken place and a celebration of life will be announced at a later date. In lieu of flowers, the family would appreciate donations in Rudy's memory to The Kidney Foundation.

Wareing Cremation Services, 225 Norwich Ave., Woodstock, Ontario has been entrusted with Final Arrangements.
