Sheila Mckinney

In loving memory of our mother, Sheila McKinney, who passed away in her 98th year, on Sunday August 28, 2022. Sheila was born in Maidstone, Kent, England in 1925. She arrived in Canada in January of 1945 as a War Bride to join her husband, Andrew Steadman McKinney, in Woodstock, Ontario.

Survived by her children Rick McKinney, John McKinney (Joyce), Kim McLaren (Dave), and Andrew McKinney (Cheryl S. May), eight grandchildren, and numerous great-grandchildren. Sheila is also survived by her sister, Joan Perks, now in her 100th year living in England. Predeceased by her eldest daughter Christine Coomber (2017).

Sheila loved to golf, play bridge, swim, and dance. She was an avid walker even during her stay at Woodingford Lodge, earning her the Most Active Resident Award.  She always enjoyed her afternoon drink of Vodka and Tonic.  Sheila owned M & M Travel in Woodstock, Ontario and traveled extensively throughout the world.  Much of her golden years were spent in the sunshine of Florida.  She was fiercely independent and took great pride in doing things “her way”.

We would like to extend our heartfelt thanks to the amazing staff at Woodingford Lodge in Ingersoll - your professionalism and personal care for Sheila are so greatly appreciated - Thank you!

Farewell and rest in peace, Mom.
