It is with great sadness that we announce the peaceful passing of Shirley Irene Breen (née Amo) on Wednesday May 27, 2026, at the age of 90.
She is survived by her five children: Heather Rennie (Robin), Perry Breen (Cheryl), Brenda Breen, Gary Breen (Denise), and Lee Breen (Mary), as well as many grandchildren and great-grandchildren. Shirley will be greatly missed by her much - loved siblings, brother Gary Amo (Diane) and family, and sister Sandra Ferguson and family. Although living in different parts of the country she cherished their regular phone calls which brought her great happiness.
In a world that often takes itself too seriously, Shirley reminded us daily not to. With her lightning-fast wit and zero-filter honesty she knew how to make every conversation funnier. Shirley could turn the most ordinary moments into comedy gold and somehow find grace in the messiness of real life. She said what she thought, laughed a lot, and left everyone around her smiling or speechless. The world feels a little quieter without her laughter, she will be deeply missed and forever remembered.
The family would like to thank everyone for their love, support, and kindness during this difficult time. In keeping with Shirley’s wishes there will be no formal Services. In lieu of flowers, please take time to enjoy a good meal and a good laugh with those you love.
