We are sad to announce, after a lengthy illness, the passing of Terry Mitchell in his 64th year at Sakura House in Woodstock on December 10th, 2024.
Terry is survived by his wife Brenda (nee Hartley) Mitchell, daughters Jody Riffel (Jason), and Jamie Olson (Doug), grandchildren Zac, Matix, Emry, Paige, Taylor, Aiden and Audrey. Cherished son of Jerry Mitchell and son-in-law of Joan Hartley. Beloved brother to Dave Mitchell (Lorelei) and Brenda Ludington (Craig). Brother-in-law to Terra Hartley, Steve Hartley (Sue), and Kent Hartley. Uncle to Mitch Ludington (Nicole), Brandon Mitchell (Amy), Shelby Ludington (Mitchell) and Victoria Mitchell. Predeceased by his mother Barb Mitchell (2020) and father-in-law Clare Hartley (2015).
During the beginning of Terry’s work career, he travelled the globe repairing fire trucks for Amertek, then he moved on to welding for Bloxsidge & Barnes, and eventually to CAMI Automotive in Ingersoll, Ontario. For over 25 years he was a dedicated member of the Beachville fire service. In his spare time Terry enjoyed competitive trap and 3D shooting. He was an avid motorcycle rider, enjoying Sunday afternoon rides with a Beachville group. But Terry’s biggest passion was his love of fishing. He spent many hours on different lakes, and for the past several years has called Buckhorn Lake his summer home at their trailer in Buckhorn Narrows Resort. This is where Terry spent countless hours teaching his grandchildren how to “catch the big one”.
A private family gathering will take place at a future date. In lieu of flowers, a donation to Sakura House or a charity of your choice in Terry’s name would be appreciated by the family.
