Thomas H. Hahn

June 11, 1948 — May 20, 2024

Kitchener, Ontario

Tom Hahn, aged 75, of Kitchener, Ontario passed away peacefully surrounded by his loving family in the ICU at Grand River Hospital.

Tom was a devoted husband to his wife, Lois, for 36 years, and a loving Father to his children Lisa (Rob), Jim, Lori (Jeff), Debbie (Aaron), and Jenny.  He was a proud Papa to eleven grandchildren, Riley, Camryn, Aden, Dylan, Taylor (his perfect sweetie), Austin, Savannah, Ainsleigh, Kaylin, Brett, and Ryan.  His canine companion Harley will miss their scooter rides and daily walks to Victoria Park.

Tom entered the trades in 1965. Throughout his HVAC career, he made countless connections and friendships. He will always be remembered as the "Chili Pepper Man," who had a great story to share.
Having grown up on a farm, Tom cherished a simple life and had a deep love for the countryside.

He was content with his flip cell phone, proudly avoiding the complexities of 21st-century technology.

Tom never missed a social event and was always the first in line at any buffet—he truly loved food.
Tom was truly one of a kind—whether sharing a dirty joke, an inappropriate story, or engaging in a lively political debate, he was unforgettable. He often joked that his monthly intake of 16 bottles of lemon juice and two Costco-sized bottles of chili flakes was what always helped him bounce back from his many illnesses.
Tom took immense pride in his grandchildren, cherishing every moment spent with them. From their younger years, he loved taking them on pony rides at St. Jacobs Market, trips to the park, and seemingly endless visits to the candy store. He reveled in sending them home to their parents on a sugar high. As they grew older, he continued to play an integral role in their lives by driving them wherever they needed to go, seeing each drive as an opportunity for precious one-on-one time.

Tom is survived by his siblings Glen (Paula), Ruth (Rory), Carol, stepsister, Susan (Elmer), and ten nieces and nephews.

He was predeceased by his parents Herb and Annette Hahn, stepmother June Hahn, and siblings Mike Hahn and Rose Bezruki.

A special thanks to Dr. Paul Hosek and all his ICU nurses at Grand River Hospital for the amazing care Tom received and helping us in any way they could.  The compassion we felt will never be forgotten.

In lieu of flowers, and in true Tom Hahn fashion, please vote for the Conservative Party in Canada's 2025 federal election. He will be shining down from above to see this victorious win.  Alternatively, consider a donation to the KW Humane Society.
