With great sorrow, we announce the passing of Tyler Keenan on Thursday May 14, 2026, following complications from MELAS disease. Born in Ingersoll, Ontario, on March 15, 1981, Tyler will be remembered for his quick wit, infectious sense of humor, and deep love for his family and friends.
Tyler was the beloved husband of Carly, and a proud and devoted father to Charlie and Tristan. His boys were the center of his world, and he treasured every moment spent with them. Tyler had a sharp sense of humor and perfectly timed sarcasm that could bring laughter even during life’s hardest moments. He held onto that right until the very end.
He will be deeply missed by his sisters, Courtenay and Kasey, especially Courtenay, with whom he shared a particularly close bond. Tyler will be sadly missed by his father-in-law Berndt Weber, and mother-in-law Pat Birnie (Ian). Tyler will be lovingly remembered by his brothers–in-law and sisters-in-law, his many nieces and nephews, relatives, and many friends whose lives he touched over the years.
He found joy in life’s simple pleasures — fishing, listening to loud metal music, and spending time with the people he loved most. Tyler was happiest by the water with a fishing rod in hand or at home with his music turned up loud.
A celebration of Tyler’s life will be held at a later date. In lieu of flowers, donations in Tyler’s memory may be made to VON Sakura House or mitocanada.
