Valerie Durston

          Valerie Andrea Durston, born on September 10, 1951, passed away peacefully after a brief battle with cancer on April 17, 2026, at Sakura House in Woodstock, Ontario,.

          Valerie was born to Jack and June Harvey and was one of three sisters alongside Lorraine Bloomfield and Charlene Brown.

          Valerie was the beloved wife of Thomas W. Durston, who she shared a loving marriage with since October 17, 1969, and a devoted mother to Christopher Durston and Bobby Morrison.  She was predeceased by her son, Tom Durston.  She leaves behind her cherished granddaughter, Ashley Kooiman (Durston), Ashley’s husband Jordan, and her great-granddaughter Charlotte, all of whom brought her immense pride and joy.  She will also be lovingly remembered by Bobby’s wife, Leona Morrison, and their sons.

          Valerie will be fondly remembered for her kind heart, strong spirit, and willingness to help anyone in need.  She was an incredibly dedicated and hardworking woman who always put her family first.  Valerie also cherished her time at the Trumpet of Truth Church in Woodstock, Ontario where she found community, faith, and friendship.  In her quieter moments, Valerie found joy in crafting and sewing, and she especially loved cooking.  She will be fondly remembered for making the best homemade bread, a simple but meaningful way she showed her love to those around her.

          Her warmth, generosity, and deep love for her family will forever be remembered and dearly missed by all who knew her.
