Vera Lynn Nutchey

Vera Lynn Nutchey (nee Turvey) passed away unexpectedly at the age of 64 on February 28, 2024.

 Vera was born on November 2, 1959 in Montreal, Québec. She was the only child to Vera (nee Barlow) and William Turvey of London, Ontario.  Loving Mom to her triplet boys: Brent, Michael, William ‘Bill’ Robinson and Grandmother to Emelie and Myer. Loving partner and “acting” wife to Alain ‘Al’ Léveillé.

Vera was known as a fiercely loving mother, selfless and giving, with a passion for humour, spreading joy and an infectious laugh that lit up a room. She expressed her creativity through art, dance, and her love for music. Vera and her “acting” husband Al cherished their time together on motorcycle adventures, cruise ships, travelling the globe and relaxing at their cottage. They shared many of these “star” trekking stories with friends and family. Vera was passionate about her family, her friends, her career and was always fond of planning the next big thing.

She became a Certified General Accountant in 1989 and received her Master's Degree in Business Administration in 2002. Her ability to view the whole picture from A to Z was uncanny and part of the reason for her ability to hold high level roles in her career like Controller, VP of Finance, Director of Finance and Chief Financial Officer at great companies around London and area. She was respected by colleagues for her professionalism and business expertise; they were the source of many friendships.

Vera was an incredible teacher and mentor, not only in her career but also in her personal life. She taught law courses at Fanshawe College and was a volunteer teacher of English as a second language at the Tillsonburg Community Centre.

The family requests that donations be made to the Heart and Stroke Foundation in lieu of flowers.
