In Loving Memory of William ‘Willy’ John Minton
It is with profound sadness that we announce the passing of William John Minton, who passed away on August 22, 2026, leaving behind a lifetime of memories and countless people who loved him.
William was the loving partner of Becky Staples, and a cherished son of Susan and James. He will be lovingly remembered by his grandmother Margaret Minton. William was a devoted father to Brittany, Brandon (Brittany), Christian (Brianne), Kyle, and Sadie (Jon), and a proud grandfather to A.J. (Adam), Jesse, Carter, Miles, Riley, Cody, Hayes, Laikynn, Paisley, and Akeila. Predeceased by his grandfather John Minton. He was also a beloved member of his four-legged family and will be deeply missed by his fur babies, Kane, Tank, Gus and Chloe.
William had a way of making family wherever life took him. Along his journey, he formed several special bonds and made many family members along the way. To William, family wasn't only about blood - it was about love, loyalty and being there for one another. He enjoyed the simple things in life: fishing, quadding, spending time with family and friends, and being with his pets. He could often be found puttering around the yard or garage, working on something with his hands. William was very mechanically inclined and could always be counted on to figure things out and lend a helping hand.
In his younger years, William was an avid hockey player. He was always the class-clown type of guy, with a mischievous sense of humour and a love for making people laugh. He could turn an ordinary moment into something funny, and his presence brought laughter wherever he went. Those who knew William will remember him as loyal, loving, protective and deeply sensitive. He had a generous heart and would help anyone who needed him, even if it meant going without himself. He loved his family and all of the extra family he gathered along the way fiercely, but gently. William will be especially missed by Bunk (Becky) and A.J. The 14 years they shared was quite the ride, filled with love, memories, plenty of fun and so much laughter.
William always had to have the last word and was always right - or at least that's what he thought. That was William, and those little things are the memories that will be treasured forever. He leaves behind a lifetime of memories, countless stories, laughter, love and a legacy carried on through the people and animals who were fortunate enough to know him.
Rest in sweet peace, my love.
Loved you then. Love you now. Love you always.
