Yvon Shank

 In Loving Memory of Yvon Joseph Gerald Shank 

           It is with profound sadness that we announce the peaceful passing of Yvon Joseph Gerald Shank on Sunday August 2, 2026, at the age of 82.

           Yvon was the beloved husband and best friend of 59 years to Anne (nee Cayen) Shank.  He was the loving son of the late Lorenzo and Olivine Shank formerly of Bonfield, Ontario.  A cherished father and grandfather, Yvon leaves behind his son John and loving wife Melissa, his late daughter Kimberley, his granddaughter Sarah, and his grandsons Timothy and Tyler, whom he loved dearly.  He was a dear brother to his sisters Evelyn Foisy (late Tony), Fernande Cahill (late John), the late Bernadette Gervais (Ben), the late Beatrice Geseron (late Edward), the late Marie Dice (late Frank), and Clemence Lepage (late Jim), and to his brothers, the late Paul (Marg), Clement (Debbie), and Denis.

           Yvon found great happiness in life’s simple pleasures.  He enjoyed golfing with his friends, cheering on his favourite hockey teams from the comfort of his favourite chair, wood carving, and spending countless hours strumming his many guitars.  He also cherished spending winters under the warm Florida sun with friends and loved ones.

           His quiet strength, gentle nature, and warm smile touched the lives of everyone who knew him.  Though our hearts are heavy with sorrow, we are grateful for the many wonderful memories we shared with him.  His love, laughter, and the lessons he passed on will remain with us always.  Rest peacefully, Papa.  You are reunited with Kim, and you will both be forever loved, forever remembered, and forever missed.

           In accordance with Yvon’s wishes, there will be no funeral service.  Please share a hug and a smile in his memory.
