Rafael Lane Befus

Rafael had three loves in his life.

The first was water. He loved to swim in it.  He loved to hear it lap against the shore, and he loved to be sailing on it.  Some of his first memories with his adopted parents Lane and Betty Befus were fishing and sailing in the lake of the woods.  He would take that love of the water and turn it into a profession becoming a merchant marine who sailed the Great Lakes and deep sea. 

His second love was dogs.  All dogs.  And they loved him, as he always had time for them.

And lastly, he loved his wife, Karen .  And she loved him.  And she will miss him.  Always.
