He is survived by his wife and best friend of over 30 years, Elaine Bates, his siblings Joanne (Jeff) Sweazey, Geraldine Claessens, and Peter (Sharon) Claessens, stepdaughters Kelly Chapman (Tom Grygorcewicz), Kris Vanwilligen, his nieces, nephews, grandchildren and great grandchildren.
